Gaining top SEO rankings in Google is not as difficult as all those people who try to suck away your money claim. It boils down to on site and off site optimization.

Now that may sounds scary if you have never done this but in reality it is very simple.

On site search engine optimization is basically making sure that your main keywords are located in your title tag, keyword tags, alt tags, within the first line of your first sentence on the page and within the last paragraph. You should also have your main keyword in the alt tag of an image on your page.

Now to clarify, each page of your website needs to have different keywords. Each page should be optimized for one particular keyword that is supported by other keywords that would normally be associated with it.

The absolute best software that I have found for keyword research, content research and spying on your competition is:

This has saved me hours of researching it the old fashioned way through Google. There are very few internet marketing tools that I truly recommend. Most of what is out there is so over hyped and out dated that it makes my stomach churn.

That said there are some basics that can and will make your life easier and the software above is one of them.

Now as to how to do this on site optimization, you can do it with any web design program out there. You simply need to be able to access the code. So there are three options on how to do this easily:

1) Get dreamweaver and learn html. This is the hardest option because Dreamweaver is not the easiest software to learn.

2) Hire a programmer to do it for you for about $25 on Rentacoder.com – Outsource your programming for less.

3) If you plan on creating a number of sites and do not want to have to learn programming, get Xsite Pro. It is a push button system that will put the tags in for you, tell you if the page is optimized and if not exactly what to do to fix it.

It can also put in your affiliate links and Adsense code with the click of a button and even create a whole other site that is optimized for cell phone users. This is the software that I personally use to build all of my sites. It has saved me thousands of dollars and programming fees.
